Where My Research Started: I
chose to focus on the power of the imagination as a creative tool when used by
children and youth to deal with their personal issues. As discussed in Chapter
3 of our text, children use their imaginations and tell stories as a way of
coping with death, bullying, abuse, or any other
emotional/psychological/physical issue they face. Here are a few words and
concepts that inspired me when beginning my research:
- Imagination
- Creativity
- Storytelling
- Fantasy play
- Creative tools
- Healing/coping mechanism
